Home Alone at Christmas?

This post has nothing to do with Macaulay Culkin.

On a serious note, I am blogging about Gloria Stewart, a fantastic woman who fund raises and sets up the Home Alone at Christmas Party in Sheffield every year.

This is a charity function, whereby she raises as much money as possible for those who have nobody at Christmas. She organises a six course meal for around 300 people in a hotel a week before Christmas. All those attending are alone at Christmas-time and are all strangers to one another. Gloria’s goal is to get them all together and make them feel special and most of all have a good time.

All guests are treated to live music so they get up and dance and Gloria tries to ensure that everyone receives a present.

I am fortunate enough to be involved this year and I know that Gloria would be massively grateful if anyone at all can donate anything at all (and I mean ANYTHING, gifts for raffles; presents; I’ve chucked in some of my books so at least some ‘lucky’ winners will be bored enough to sleep over the festive period) to ensure as many people can attend.

Please do think how you would feel if you literally had no-one at all over Christmas-time. Please help if you can.
